If you were at the Filmmakers Academy Film Festival last summer then you got to watch the trailer for the alumni project, later titled “Face Up”. At that time the alumni project was still underway, but we told everyone that once it was finished we’d submit it to some film festivals and then release it online.

Well the wait is over and you can watch “Face Up” for free online right now!

What?

We’ll be screening the 3 short films listed below:

1. “Face Up”

That’s right, we’re finally premiering the 15-minute short film that was written, produced, directed, crewed, and edited this past summer by the 2010 FA Alumni. Not only will we screen the film, but we’ll also have an opportunity for the cast and crew to field questions from the audience.

Don’t miss out on this first-ever public screening!

2. “Almighty“

This pro-life music video was entirely created by the Austin pro-life community and was released in the spring of 2011. The creative team included FA Speaker, Colton Bostick (as cameraman) and FA Instructor, Alex Lerma (as director).

Various cast and crew members will be available to speak about their experience and answer audience questions.

3. “Indescribable“

This feature-length film is still on the editing floor of post-production. However, the producer and director (Joseph and Stacie Graber) have graciously agreed to join us for the afternoon and show us an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek into their uplifting production.

We’ll have the opportunity to watch never-before-released footage as Joseph and Stacie explain the process behind creating their first feature film.

Film Festival

The Filmmakers Academy Film Festival was quite a blast! We had a great turnout with about 275 people in attendance. Many of the films included messages such as forgiveness, compassion, faith, and loyalty. Our keynote speaker, Colin Gunn, gave a fascinating presentation about his experiences as an independent Christian filmmaker while interspersing clips from documentaries that he’s made.

The judges chose “The Good“, created by Legendary Films, as Festival Champion.

The Audience Choice Award also went to “The Good“.

We were so proud to see the improvement in every team between their first film of the summer and their final film.  Filmmakers Academy’s goal this summer was for each student to learn more about the art of filmmaking so that they can use this medium for the glory of God, and we really believe that this goal was met.

Thanks to everyone for such a great summer and we hope that all of you continue to grow as filmmakers. See you soon!
