This summer, Filmmakers Academy – Austin will hold two programs for students ages 12 – 18 who want to develop their filmmaking skills for Christ.
June 2nd – 6th: Introduction to Filmmaking
Monday – Friday from 10 am – 3 pm.
Students who are new to filmmaking will learn how to create films by taking a story from script to edited film. Even filmmakers with some experience will benefit from instructors who will give them keys to more professional-looking results.
June 10 – 27*: Young Filmmakers’ Short Film Project
Students who have attended previous Filmmakers Academy (or this summer’s Intro. to Filmmaking program)** can work together to create a 4-6 minute film short.
Each position on the film crew will be chosen by the FA staff.
Students will have instruction in their chosen area of expertise (as well as a secondary area) and will be mentored through pre-production, production, and post-production.
The script for this program will be chosen from the Short Film Script-Writing Competition.
*See calendar for schedule details. Included are four days of instruction and pre-production, two days of shooting, and two days of post-production. We will work around students’ schedules and location availability to set up the specific times for production and post-production days.
**Students who have previous filmmaking experience who have not been in previous FA programs should submit a request to join this program via email. Lora@filmmakersacademyaustin.com
