Who We Are
Filmmakers Academy Summer 2011 will be taught by Alex Lerma and Paul Hastings.
What We Do
As Christians we all have a purpose, to fulfill the Great Commission and make disciples in all nations. Jesus doesn’t say this as an optional ideal, He delivers it as a command. We are all commanded to spread the Good News of God’s salvation.
Of all forms of communication, film has the potential to be one of the most powerful. It combines the performance of actors, the stories of writers, the skills of photographers, and the special effects of engineers with the musical talents of composers and orchestras to create a masterpiece.
Unfortunately many filmmakers today use their talents not for God, but rather for films that denigrate God and his Kingdom. A need has risen for a new generation of Christians to step forth and engage our culture through this powerful medium of communication.
Our Mission
Filmmakers Academy teaches Christian youth how to effectively communicate through the medium of cinema. The Academy aims to create an environment where aspiring directors, actors, writers, engineers, and composers can come together and learn with others in a God-honoring manner while all the time enhancing lifelong skills like leadership, cooperation, submission, and creativity.
